Perfect Jobs for Outgoing Teenagers
04/21/2010
In our last post, we offered suggestions for shy teenagers looking for their first job, but what if you are the opposite of shy? What if you would much rather be the center of attention and interact with different kinds of people? Well good news! We have just the jobs for you!
-
Server: As I’m sure you know from eating out, when you have a friendly server, you have a more enjoyable dining experience. By landing your first job as a server you will be able to use your outgoing personality to interact with customers while learning valuable skills about promptness, service and hospitality, and the importance of taking pride in your work.
-
Amusement parks: Some people only get to visit amusement parks a few times a year, but you could do it every day! Amusement parks have a wide variety of jobs that involve a lot of interaction with the public. Operating rides, working in concession stands or gift shops, or even dressing up as a mascot or character will all require you to be outgoing, friendly, talkative and work with customers almost constantly.
-
Summer Camps: The number and variety of summer camps available is almost endless, so whether you are an athlete, a math wiz, involved in your church or love to work with kids, there is probably a summer camp near you where your skills and outgoing personality can be put to great use!
-
Cashier: Whether at a grocery store, your favorite store in the mall or any other retail store, being a cashier will allow you to work closely with customers of all types to provide the best service possible. As the last person that a customer will see before leaving a store, your outgoing personality will make sure that they leave with a positive experience—and come back again!
Remember, jobs like these and others involving customer service come with a lot of responsibility—your employer relies on you to make a good impression with customers and clients. But if you can put your outgoing attitude to work for you, your first job can not only be a lot of fun, it can also be a great opportunity to learn valuable, life-long skills.
